Adopt a Family

Today, my friend Perry and I photographed the gift-wrapping session for Adopt a Family which is held by Capture the Dream. Adopt a Family is just like the name implies; you can adopt a low-income family and provide them with gifts they otherwise could not afford for the holiday season. It felt like I was one of Santa’s elves.

Next week we get to witness the revealing of gifts! I’m excited.

Happy Birthday and Congrats

It's my brother's birthday! We went out to celebrate at Dragon Terrace. They treated us to a free fried banana and ice cream dessert. Yum. We were also celebrating him getting two jobs at nearby dental offices.

Weekend Goodies

My favorite candies from trick-or-treat bags are generally Reese's and Almond Joys. Yum. Below, there is also a picture of the belated birthday present my friend Linda got for me. It's a flask with the design of a map! I don't see myself filling it with anything in the near future but dang, she does know me. I love maps.

So, my dog destroyed my glasses, Perry and Linda visited on Halloween, and I recycled some old Towel Costumes. Overall, a good weekend.

Bare Necessities

I recently purchased my first clutch ever at a near by thrift store on San Pablo Ave called The Treasure Hunt. It's a pretty pricey place compared to other thrift stores I've been to which is why I only got one thing. Anyway, isn't it cute? I like that it's simple, geometric in a way, and it's a color that I can't get annoyed of. It's hard adjusting to using a clutch when I've always used a black leather wallet that just fit in my pocket. I might switch back and forth depending on whether or not I want to be carrying a bag.

As for things in my bag, featured above are the necessities one would always find inside it: cellphone, wallet, keys, chapstick, pencil and pen, a nail cutter and matches.

I recently found out that CoinStar doesn't take any money from you when you opt for a gift card or ecertificate! One of their vendors happens to be Amazon.com - a place I use frequently to buy my camera gear. So after I figured that out, I took all of the coins in my room and started separating them in the living room. I don't know why because CoinStar does it for you...but I just wanted to. Anyway, it looks like a good amount to get maybe one SB-700. I just don't know if I'm ready to turn in my coins...it's such a cool decoration but then again it's probably going to go to something I really want and couldn't afford otherwise.

What are your thoughts on what I should do? Keep the coins or get that certificate to Amazon and buy my flash?
